Our courses are only available to CSS members and are designed to help you meet your continuing education requirements as listed in 42 CFR 484.36 which means they are appropriate for family members, unlicensed caregivers, and direct care workers employed by Home Care and Assisted Living providers.
Each training is assessable via online format (you have the option to take the course on your computer, your cell phone or iPad. Once you complete the training you will be prompted to take a test that is integrated into the training, you will receive an electronic certificate of completion that can be downloaded or printed as proof of your successful passing of the course. The minimum passing score for each course is 75%.
Current Course Offerings
In this, module normal aging symptoms are introduced. The differences between acute and chronic diseases are explored and suggestions are provided so that you may assist those for whom you care maintain their highest level of functioning.
Hypertension and Heart Disease
In this, module you will learn about the normal functioning of the heart. Common symptoms of hypertension, heart failure, and heart disease are outlined, including normal ranges for blood pressure and pulse. The module concludes with best practices and suggestions as to how you might care for someone with heart disease.
Mobility Problems and Falls
Chronic immobility can impact every aspect of independence for a client. In this module you will learn about fall prevention and common challenges associated with chronic immobility. Strategies to promote independence and empower your clients to maintain their highest level of functioning are also introduced. I hope you enjoy the training.
